| CHANDIGARH- AUGUST 27, 2008: Centre for Adult Continuing Education & Extension, Panjab University Chandigarh in collaboration with Don Bosco Nav jeevan Centre (An N.G.O), Sector 24, Chandigarh organized One Day Workshop on “Communication Skills” at Don Bosco Navjeevan Centre, Sector 24, Chandigarh on 27th August 2008. More than 100 boys and girls belonging to low socio economic status participated in the Workshop. Dr Prabha Vig, Senior Project Officer, P.U., said that the main objective of the Workshop is to use communication skills as a way to enhance personality. While speaking on the occasion, she said communication helps individuals to define who they are, by interacting with the environment and to regulate their social behavior. By this way communication improves the self image, self esteem and formulates the parameters of one’s identity, human relationships as well as employability opportunities of the individual. She further added with growing stress and frustrations people are losing its significance. She said that with effective communication human beings can satisfy their Physical, Social and Practical needs. Father Sebastian Jose from Don Bosco Centre also spoke on the occasion according to Dr. Sween, Director, Centre for Adult Continuing Education & Extension, Panjab University Chandigarh. |
